This 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is a performance compact sedan made for sheer driving pleasure and to make the driver feel like driving a go-kart with a rocket engine. The CLA 45 AMG's coupe-like form looks arresting. The front bumper sits dangerously low and features large air dams like the ones on the E63 AMG. The exhaust note of this car is more like a proper four-cylinder Euro hot hatch, but what you will simply love is the wastegate whistle which is sweet enough to give turbo tuner cars a run for their money. This Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG packs a 2.0-liter twin-turbo engine from Affalterbach, AMG's smallest engine ever. The only way to make big power out of a small engine and keep it reliable is to use forced induction, and the AMG chose to go with a large twin-scroll turbo that puts out 375 hp and 350 lb-ft. of torque which is the highest in its segment. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that feeds all the power to the all-wheel system. When it comes to performance, the CLA 45 AMG dominates its competitors and catapults the baby AMG from 0-60 mph in a claimed time of 4.1 seconds. It clocks a quarter-mile time of just 13.5 seconds and skyrockets to a top speed of electronically limited 155 mph, but it is even more capable as you get all this performance from the engine that is only 2 liters.
